The Additional Ten Commandments

Exodus 22:16-31

Here are 10 more laws that should be taken as equal to the Ten Commandments, since they are laws of YHWH and were given to Moses at the same time.  Somehow the Traditions of Men have minimized these laws.  Again these are a diverse set of laws but most of them are related to personal responsibility in society.

The first law is about sex outside of marriage.  That’s right, it is not a sin.  In fact it is easily rectified.  All that need to be done is that the man must marry the woman.  If the father refuses to allow this then the man must pay a dowry.  Then all is settled.

The second law is simple.  Murder any sorceress.  Now I wonder what tests there are to prove a woman is a sorceress.  Since magic does not exist, what exactly must she do to be labeled a sorceress?  And why are magicians (male sorcerers) allowed to live?  Do they not both deceive?  Do they both not “draw their powers” for something other than YHWH?  The Spanish Inquisition and the Boston Witch Trials both attempted to obey this law.  And we know the evil and suffering that those two events created.

The third law is also very simple.  Sex with animals is punished by death.  The choice of how the person dies is left open.  This is certainly an open and shut case, right?  Except how do you know when someone is having sex with an animal unless you are present during the act?  As a result, I am sure that very few people were killed for this crime.

The fourth law seems to be forgotten today.  It can certainly be ignored for the Christians, but for Israel it would seem that this law should still be in effect.  The simplicity is astonishing:

Exodus 22:21 Do not mistreat an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in Egypt.

Yet this is exactly what is happening to the Palestinians today!  How have the Israelites circumvented obeying YHWH’s law?  Or is this a case of how YHWH changes over the course of the centuries?

The fifth law pertains to widows and orphans.  YHWH commands that they not be taken advantage of.  He even claims that this act will arouse his anger.  And guess what he will do when angered?  He will kill the criminals with a sword.  Wow, I want to see that!  Can you imagine YHWH coming down and killing someone with a sword?  Oh, you mean he will use some other person or tribe to do his dirty work.  Well, that’s just boring.

The sixth is about lending money.  YHWH’s law requires that moneylenders not charge interest for those who are in need!  When does someone borrow money when they are not in need?  Does this not force all moneylenders to withhold charging interest?

The seventh one is just a repeat from the 10 commandments.  But it includes the ruler of the nation as well.  Do not blaspheme YHWH has already been covered.  The new part is that no one can curse the ruler of their nation!  There goes free speech.  Guess what US; we are breaking YHWH’s laws.  And you know what happens then, 160 years of punishment (Exodus 20:5-6).

The eighth law is about tithing.  YHWH has written a law requiring that everyone must tithe.  He has not made it specific amounts yet.  But YHWH requires that sacrificing to him is required.

The ninth law is a douse.  YHWH requires the firstborn males, of man and beast.  On the eight day of the human’s or animal’s life they are to be turned over to YHWH.  No wonder so many terrible things are happening in the world today!  No one is obeying YHWH’s laws.  All of these things the United States have to change, if we really want the blessing of YHWH.  It certainly seems impossible to me!

The last law is a simple one.  Most people would agree that this one is best if we accept it.  It is simply not to eat the flesh of an animal killed by other wild animals.  First off, can you imagine eating a carcass that has been left by wild animals?  What types of bacteria and rot have begun to proliferate?  Second, can you imagine what the flavor of this meat would taste like?  After all, the animal was not killed without stress producing dopamine, epinephrine and nor-epinephrine.  These chemicals cause the gamely flavor in animal meats.  This one is just plain old common sense.
